In the beginning of the Digital Graphics course, to commence the course we first took a look at the early 8-bit and 16-bit graphic games. We looked at Donkey Kong and Space Invaders. Once we looked back at the early ‘bit’ graphic we then set out to create a self portrait of our self using either an eight colour pallet or a sixteen colour pallet. I chose to create a 16-bit self portrait. I took a photo of myself on the mac and put the image in photoshop, cropped the photo and then moved the image into a canvas 50×50 pixels. I then sized the image up and then took a 16 colour pallet from the image and the on different layers I applied the correct colour to make image a 16-bit self portrait.
These are two designs that I did for a Minecraft avatar. I have taken several different screen shot of the two avatars. First you have the Purple and White one which is my personal avatar that I designed from scratch. He is a mix of two different marvel characters, the bases for the character is Deadpool as most marvel fan can tell by the outfit design. The Second addition to the avatar is Deathstroke that you will notice from half face, gauntlets and shoulder armour. The reason why I have chosen to combine these two together is because it portrays a little bit of me, the Deadpool is because I am a bit insane and he is a schizophrenic so can here voice’s in his head which would classify him as mentally insane. I am also a bit like Deathstroke as I am determined in every thing I do and what to get the best possible result out of it.
The second Minecraft avatar I did as they currently don’t have a Deadpool avatar in their skin packs. I did it as an experiment. The reason why I did an experiment first is to see how I would create my actual skin using the browser that I had. Once I managed to successful design the Deadpool I knew that it would take much to create my avatar that I call Banshee.
These are interior rooms that I found in a game that are the closest thing to what I will be designing these interior designs are from GTA V online apartments. This apartment was the apartment that my character brought in the game. These rooms are the closest thing to my room these rooms have some of the elements that I will be using in my dinning room, I will be using the wine bottle, adapting the cupboard to my rooms style, adapting the dinning room chairs to my style, the glass casing around the fireplace for glass casing in the slimmer bookshelf.
To create the Cupboard I first started off with a single cube and created the sides and back of the cupboard first with an inner extrude and a bevel to to give it that carved effect, I then repeated this for each conner of the cupboard for an ascetic look. For the top of the cupboard I gave it a platform that sunk into the cupboard. To get the platform I used an inner extrude and an extrude. The hardest part of the Cupboard was the doors that took a lot of trial and error, I ended up creating them the exact same way as the sides but I doubled it up to give me doors with a split down the middle to make them separate. I created the door handles separately I used a bezier for the out line of the handle and then added a lathe to make it whole I created two of these and attached both of them to the front of the cupboard.
To create the Stereo I started off with a cube and extruded a part of it to make an edge and then added a little docking station for an iPod. For the volume control I stuck a cylinder at the other end of the stereo and gave it a shine. For the speakers I shrink a cube and rotated one of the faces slightly and then with another cube I slimed it down and rotated it and stuck in the middle of the speaker to make it look better appearance wise.
This is one of the items that will be going into my room. This is a fireplace in my dinning room. I created the walls first from a cube by using a variation of extrude and inner extrudes. Once I had created the outer part of the fireplace, I erased one part of the wall to make room for the fireplace itself. First I started off with the shell of the fireplace and then added in the vent for the fireplace to create the vent I used a cube and a series of rotations to make it look ascetically like a vent. Next I added in the cage for the charcoal which was a golden cube with a grill in front of it. To create a grill I used a single cube and six extrudes and six inner extrudes, to make it look like a grill. In order to make the charcoal I shrunk three cubes and coloured then black then duplicated them to create the look of a ready to go fireplace. To make the Mirror I used two inner extrudes and an extruded for the frame and a extrude for the glass then added a extremely reflective material for the glass in order to actually make it look like a mirror.
Pokemon Yellow is an 8-bit consloe game. Pokemon Yellow was created by Game Freak. Pokemon Yellow was the first Pokemon game to be created in colour as the previous game was created in Black and White. This was a big venture for games are it was a developed on a hand held console. Pokemon yellow uses 8-bit graphics as it was the first venture there weren’t many colours availble at the time. Pokemon was a big hit at the time and curremntly is. Most of the colours that were used were repeated due to the fact that there was a lack of colours at the current time. The design in the actual game was pretty simple caompared to the design of current games in this day and age. All of the menus, text health bars and most moves were done in black and white or a shade of the two. But all of the designs for the Pokemon and their characters were all constructed in colour. Pokemon Yellow was created after the release of Pokemon Red and Blue, Yellow is an enhanced version of the two but was though to be unnecessary as Pokemon Gold and Silver were to be developed and released in the exact same year that Yellow was released. Yellow was released to coincide with the release of Pokemon: The First Movie. The Artist for Pokemon Yellow Ken Sugimori is most famous for drawing all of the original 151 pokemon by himself. Ken Sugimori also did the development for all of the moves that the pokemon performed in the game.
